GRP Partners made their first investment in Caribou Coffee Company in 1996 when it had approximately eight locations. When Caribou was sold to a financial investor group in 2001, it had approximately 120 locations. Today, Caribou Coffee Company is the second largest company owned gourmet coffeehouse operator in the United States based on the number of coffeehouses. Caribou Coffee has almost 500 locations in 16 US states and the District of Columbia, as well as in several countries outside the United States.
